The beginning!

Today, I start to write and share my daily events and thoughts. I wish I had done this sooner, but as the saying goes - it's never too late to start!
I want firstly to record some interesting places that my Wife (Joan) and I visited this year 2013

January   We travelled with Majestic Tours to Liverpool . Stayed at the Adelphi Hotel. The highlights were our visits to Anfield Football ground and to the Cavern

Febuary   We started going to the cinema. 2 for 1 with Orange on Wednesdays .Enjoyed  A song for Marion, The Quartet, with Billy Connolly, and the best film was Les Miserable.

April   Again with Majestic Tours we went to Lincoln.  A very good trip.  A lot of interesting places to see. Grantham  (home of Mrs Thatcher) Stamford, Spalding, Burleigh House.

May   Our regular annual day out at the Devon County Show. Bought a Cumbrian carved bear this year, called Brewster.

June   We travelled to Maastricht with Newmarket Holidays to see Andre Rieu in Vrijthof Square. Great experience.  It poured with rain throughout the performance which did spoil the show a bit. Everybody is provided with a plastic Poncho, but we still got wet, and that did spoil the evening a bit.

August   Went to the Edinburgh Tattoo. Marvellous show, and would like to go again in 2014.
Included trips when in Scotland was to Loch Lomond and to Stirling Castle

October   Went to Ostend. Again with Majestic. Really enjoyed this trip, and visited Brugge and Ghent.

December  Andre Rieu at the Echo Arena, Liverpool. Certainly one of the highlights of 2013. We intend to go to his Christmas Concert (maybe in London)  in 2014. That's if he tours England again in 2014 of course.

A new interest for me this year has been Lawn bowls. I joined the St. Thomas bowling club, and really enjoyed the season.  Looking forward to next season which starts in April I think!

The only theatre show we saw this year was The War Horse. Very good show,  Now looking forward to The Lion King in February.

Hope to see you again in the New Year.
